SHADOW GALLERY:
addio caro Mike, ci mancherai
Tragedia in casa Shadow Gallery. Il cofondatore e leggendario
frontman della celeberrima prog band statunitense - impegnata nella
lavorazione del nuovo album - ci lascia a soli 45 anni, stroncato da un
infarto. Questo il comunicato stampa del gruppo che ha shockato
l'universo metal tutto:
"It is with deep sadness and regret that
we announce the passing of Shadow Gallery vocalist, Michael A. Baker.
Mike suffered a heart attack, Wednesday afternoon, October 29th, 2008.
He was 45 years old. Mike was a founding member of Shadow Gallery and
for the past 16 years, helped shape the sound of the band with his
magical voice. Additionally, he made many appearances on rock records
around the world. Those who knew him best were moved by his gentle
spirit, sincere kindness , fun nature and passion for both music and
sports. He was a warrior in the studio, a true professional. Mike was
our friend, our singer and our brother. We loved him and will miss him
enormously, but he will always be remembered in our hearts and through
his music".

OSKORD: nuovo act dagli ex Holy Blood
Ricordate la complessa vicenda dello split degli ucraini Holy Blood?
Ebbene, ora i quattro membri che hanno lasciato definitivamente il
gruppo ne han formato uno nuovo, sempre unblack/folk, gli Oskord.
Al momento in line-up vi sono i chitarristi Sergei Nagorny e Max Kiprov,
il bassista Alexei Andrushenko, il drummer Dmitry Titorenko. Questo il

VOMITOUS DISCHARGE: abbandonano il gore
Gag dei grindgore Vomitous Discharge fa sapere di aver
abbandonato, per il nuovo lavoro in uscita, le metaforiche testualità
splatter tipiche del gore. Queste le sue parole:
"I decided to leave the gore/splatter
metaphors away and actually use real lyrics. If you hated the band in
the past because of those things, maybe you can enjoy it more now".

news dall'extreme/death act
Dopo un anno di totale silenzio torna a dare notizie di sé, tramite
MySpace, la promettentissima extreme/death band statunitense dei Deus
Invictus; i nostri si erano dovuti fermare per problemi personali di
alcuni membri, ma ora sono di nuovo a lavoro per la realizzazione del
debut full-length. In line-up rientra anche l'ex chitarrista Jay
Sexton. La registrazione dell'album dovrebbe avvenire nel mese di
Gennaio:

primi annunci, grande line-up!
Quest'anno il christian metal festival svizzero si terrà nell'atipico
mese di Maggio, precisamente dal 21 al 23. Alcune delle band finora

BECOMING THE ARCHETYPE:
la cover di "Dichotomy"
Annunciata la
copertina "Dichotomy", il nuovo album della conosciuta
ed apprezzata swedecore band che uscirà per la Solid State il 25
novembre. Potete ammirarla

SOUL EMBRACED: grossi cambi in formazione
"Rocky" Gray lascia il ruolo di axeman del combo a causa degli eccessivi
impegni con gli Evanescence, di cui è batterista, e con i
Living Sacrifice, in piena lavorazione all'atteso album del ritorno.
Ma per i Living Sacrifice sta lavorando alacremente anche il
batterista Lance Garvin, che difatti lui pure decide di lasciare il
progetto Soul Embraced. Tuttavia la band non si scioglierà, e al
momento "Rocky" sta continuando a lavorare con Chad, Devin e Jeff, ma
alla batteria, in attesa di trovare un sostituto stabile.
EKKLESIAST: riedizione del primo album
In attesa di un nuovo lavoro, i fans della doom band russa possono
consolarsi con la
notizia della riedizione da parte della
Solitude Productions del primo full-length "...When The Dead Boughs
Will Awake From The Dreams". L'album è stato ri-registrato e
prodotto professionalmente, e conterrà anche le tracce del demo Ep "Touch
Of Snowstorm" del 1998.

DOOMENICUS:
"Sacred" verso la conclusione
La doom band pugliese, reduce da un doom festival tenutosi a Vienna con
la presenza anche di Doomraiser e
Midryasi,
fa sapere di star ultimando i lavori per il full-length "Sacred".
La qualità del suono pare sia soddisfacente, l'album potrebbe uscire già
nel corso del mese di dicembre.
NYX: unblack band dal Portogallo
Finalmente anche il Portogallo ha la sua band cristiana, sono gli
unblacksters NYX. Sul MySpace del sodalizio iberico sono
ascoltabili due buoni brani: Ride into the cross e

Il duo macedone che compone il progetto di gothic sperimentale Wipe
